And I hadn't met her yet.
Josh had to go to work
so I complained for a minute or two then shut my mouth because I am grateful we have a job. Then decided that despite the snag in plans, I was going to go anyway. A little crazy in the head? Maybe. But I have big plans on making little Paisley think I am the world's greatest Auntie. I can't get them put into motion if I am not there...right?! HAHA!
The kids thought they had died and gone to heaven because not only were they going to get to play with cousins, they were going to get to stay here

It is the tiniest things that make my kids so happy. Lucky for me! When we got there, Ash let me do pictures of cute baby Paisley and Jake even consented for a few. (This was big because the football game was on. I too am married to a football junkie and I know how much it means when they will stop watching the game even for a minute!)

After pictures were over Ashley took us to what I will now refer to as "a piece of heaven on earth"....Costco Business Center. "How is that different from Costco?" you might ask..well I will tell you. They have quite a few things that regular Costcos have and then SO MUCH MORE. If you ever need baking pans, cleaners, paper goods, food, anything at all that a business just might need...they have it. And cheap. Did I mention cheap?! I could have spent hours there if Hayden hadn't spilled cleaner on his pants and Gracie had a nap but one day, maybe I will! The kids wanted one of the vending machines for the house. I could have bought one...Costco has them for sale. Oh and BONUS! You can get in with your Costco card, no special card needed. SWWEEET!

Ashley, being the super woman that she is, cooked for us all weekend long. She made lime chicken tacos with cilantro rice and it was the best tacos I have EVER had. I am going to get that recipe from her and I will post it here because it made me want to lick my plate when I was done they were that good.

That night I was so proud of myself. I loaded kids into the car and headed out onto the Vegas freeway (at night mind you) to get to our hotel. I don't know Vegas. I have no clue where I am. They have freeways going everywhere. I had only driven there once when we checked in. It was dark. People drive like lunatics but I got us there in one piece and I didn't get lost!
We went to the blessing the next morning. It was beautiful. I will say this though. Kids know when you are outnumbered. Yes they do. 3 kids and one me...it was a recipe for disaster. At one point I had to take Grace out because she screams if anyone touches something she may or may not want to play with. Next it was Hayden because he was crying that Grace had taken something. I took him outside and sat him next to the building and asked what was going on. His reply..."I just need to cry for a minute." Fine enough. Once that was done, we headed back in just in time to hear the prayer and we were done with church.
Thanks to a cough Hayden was starting to come down with, we headed home early. I am bummed that we didn't have tv's in our cars when I was growing up. It would have made car trips from Mesa to Salt Lake more bearable. But to make up for it, at least I get to be a parent with a tv in the car. That dvd player is a lifesaver I tell you. That and glow sticks. 2 of the best inventions ever.

When the LOOONG car ride was over, we walked into the house to find dinner cooked and flowers waiting for us. I think he missed us! ;)
It was a great trip and a HUGE thanks to Jake and Ashley for letting us come and bring crazy with us! We love you guys! xoxo
