Another recipe we LOVE!

This {in my opinion} is hands down one of the bestest drinks e-vah! I would drink it from sun up to sun down if I could. But I shouldn't.

It is so easy too...another plus in my book!

Brazilian Lemonade

2 large limes (the smoother the skin, the jucier the lime...fancy little tip!)

1 cup sugar

1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk

6 cups water

ice

Before I go any further...unless you have a BIG blender, not standard, split the recipe in half and do it 1 half at a time...if not you will have a HUGE mess and will be cursing my name! We don't want that do we?! Alright, now that we have that out of the way, on we go!

Wash the limes. Cut off the ends and cut into 1/8" slices. Place limes, sugar, milk and water into blender. Pulse 5-6 times on high speed. Now you are gonna grab a thin holed (really thin) strainer and hold it over a pitcher. Pour the limey (is that a word? it is now I guess!) goodness through the strainer. Repeat if you are halving the recipe. Serve over ice. MMMMM.....

To make matters even more fun...you can add raspberries, strawberries, pineapple or coconut (or all of them!) to the lime mix before blending!

Enjoy!

Edit..

I just wanted to clarify a couple of things about this recipe that people have had some questions about...

Oh yes...you put the rind and everything into the blender. I thought "Eww gag me!" when I first heard it but believe me. THE. WHOLE. THING. Trust me! (Less prep time in the kitchen is always a plus, no?!)

Second, that beautiful strainer right there (or tinier) is what you are going to want to use. This keeps said chunks out of your drink. Using this will make it smooth. Chunks...bad. Blech.... (When I googled for a picture, it was listed as a tea strainer...go figure! I didn't know there were different names for strainers. I learned something new today!)

When you pulse the goal is 5 really good high pulses. I have been known to do some really wimpy pulses, so I throw in a couple more for good measure. But don't get "pulse happy" cause too much and you will get a bitter taste to your drink. No one wants that. So don't blend it all to a gloppy mess!

Other than that, I can't think of anything else! Let me know what you think!

Peppermint Punch

So I have a million posts that I need to do...and I will get them done...someday! But for now, I found this on Be Different...Act Normal and it made me want to make one RIGHT NOW. I figured that it isn't fun to "drink" alone so I am sharing it here....ENJOY!!

1 gallon of peppermint ice cream
1 bottle of sprite
1/2 cup of cream
1 quart eggnog
1 liter bottle club soda, chilled

Mmmm....off to get ice cream and egg nog!
