We picked out our paint for our house a month ago. We bought our paint 3 weeks ago. We finally started painting...yesterday! This last weekend my family was all together. We celebrated my Mom's 29th birthday (add another 21 years and you got it-she has stayed at the age of 29 since I can remember and my Grandma is 39) It is always great to have my family around. And the kids love it. We had been in Costco the night before they got here picking up things for her birthday dinner that Ashley and I were putting together. We find ourselves walking up and down EVERY aisle whether we need anything on it or not. We find ourselves laughing every time at the 200 oz. bottle of soy sauce and the 10 gallon container of Mayo. And we put together a wish list of things we would love to get one day. Maddie and Hayden just love to sit in the cart and look up at the gigantic playground set and ask if they have enough pennies saved up to buy it. Anyway- we happened to be on the cereal aisle and Hayden looked over and saw the container of Quaker oatmeal and quickly proclaimed "PAPA!!! It's PAPA!!" I chuckled at first and out of curiosity looked again to see what would make him think that. And I realized- put a white wig on my dad and give him the right hat- he could TOTALLY p
ull of the Quaker oats guy! When my parents came down we told them what Hayden had said and we all burst out laughing because Hayden had something! So now we call Dad Quaker oats. I am sure he hates it but it gives us a great laugh. While my mom was here I figured I would get
her busy on one of my million projects. I bought fabric to make drapes when I was in Salt Lake and they have sat on the roll next to the window ever since. She has made drapes for every house we have
ever lived in growing up. So I had her sew my drapes. I think they turned out pretty great. And I didn't have to do them. Even better. Then yesterday Josh's work gave him the day off if he would write a paper on the importance of the founding fathers. (He thought they were joking about the paper....he is in writing it right now because his boss wants one from everyone first thing in the morning!) So we taped and preped the entry way and painted it yesterday. I will never paint walls that high again. Josh is afraid of heights and could only get up 4 steps on the ladder so that left me. And it is amazing how you for get just how much work it is to paint. But it looks so much better when you
are done. So one down -4 to go!
