We were here at home this year for the 4th. And when you live in what feels like the hottest place in the world, you get creative with the festivities! We spent the morning playing the Wii and ran a few errands. Josh was so sweet to let me go with him to Sportsmans Warehouse...note the sarcasm! Later that afternoon we had the Hood family 1st Annual backyard summer games. Complete with a water balloon fight, red light green light, simon says, etc.... The kids had a blast. But all day the question they kept asking was "Is it getting dark yet?" which was followed by "Look, I think it is darker outside!" Mind you this started at noon and went for the rest of the day! Thank heavens when it finally started getting dark! We headed outside again and had our "fireworks" show and sparklers. We loaded up and headed for the hills to watch the city fireworks show. We got a pretty cool spot if I do say so myself. The kids would have watched for HOURS but 20 minutes was good enough for me!

Looks like fun! You are my hero for even venturing outside! It was 102 here on 4th of July! I was so blasted hot & then I remembered that 102 is a cool day for you guys! I bet it felt perfect though for the fireworks!
Sounds like a Blast- especially Sportsman's - you lucky girl you! It is nice sometimes to just hang out & do your own thing huh. You guys were very creative :)
