Thankful Thursday

I have missed Thankful Thursday for a couple of weeks. I am really slacking aren't I?! So this list is much overdue...

1. The temps here are starting to come down...just a little. Fall is one of my favorites and I would love to have the weather to match! It looks a little silly that I have my fall leaves, pumpkins and stuff out and we are still holding in the upper 90's!

2. Considering that today is the memorial for 9/11, I am reminded at how grateful I am to live in this country. Sure there are a lot of things that we as a country need to do better on (and I am going to leave politics out of this post!) but we are so blessed. And we are fortunate to have men and women who risk their lives every day to keep us safe and protected. A big thank you to to the soldiers, the fire fighters, the police officers, and their families. (and yes, Mel and Brandi, that means you! :)

3. I am thankful that Kellie gave me a shot and has me designing books, announcements, and cards for her. I have realized how much I love creating things (even from scratch) and it has left me wondering why I didn't do it sooner!

4. Hayden is on a soccer team this year (YAY!) and it has been so good for him. He is one of two that has never played before so this year will be interesting. (I have been meaning to get his pictures up...I will get it done soon!) He loves his soccer shirt, shorts, shoes, and socks. He wants to wear them all the time! And when Josh gets home from work, after dinner, he always asks Josh to go out and kick the ball with him. He crashes at bedtime faster because of it, so yet, another reason I am thankful!

5. That Maddie loves school and is doing great this year. She wasn't sure she would love her "new" teacher as much as her "old" teacher but she does. She is the perfect teacher for Maddie's needs. Maddie comes home everyday and talks for hours about what she did at school. I love that she gets excited to learn. She loves to read, to write, and to do math. (The math part?! Clearly, that did not come from me!)

I am glad that Maddie loves math. What a shame that she doesn't have your skill of having a good cry before conquering math homework....of the memories!

I hope you're able to post some of the books and cards you're doing professionally. I'd love to see them!
