What we did over Christmas Vacation...

Sure Christmas is almost a good 2 weeks past already. But here I am....catching up on some much needed blog stuff. I will admit that in 2 weeks, I have had some time here and there that I could have blogged, but I didn't. I had a case of not wanting to blog. At all. Not even a little bit. That is not normal for me. Between the holidays, Maddie being off of school, a primary stack a mile high to get finished before the new year, etc...it seemed that blogging was one thing that could take the back burner and get done later.

Now the holidays are over, Maddie is happily back to school, primary is running again for another year, and laundry is in the washer as we speak. So it is on with my to do list and this is a big one.

In true back to school fashion, I give you my "What I did over Christmas vacation" report...

We of course did gingerbread houses....not the prettiest but it tasted good (That is all that really matters in my book!)

Maddie had her Christmas dance recital. She danced to "Jingle Jingle Jingle" and did awesome!

We tried to see the lights at the temple, but waited until the last minute and chickened out of actually getting out because of the rain/snow storm. I know, we are wimps, but we were at least warm wimps! :)

Christmas Eve came and we did our nativity/one present/cookies for Santa routine. We missed getting to be with our families, but of course we still had a good time!

And of course, Santa came and brought lots of fun stuff for the kiddos.

We celebrated a birthday!

We ate way too much....

We played and and played...

Then Nana,Pop Pop, Austin and Grandpa came and we played a lot more...

And with them they brought on Christmas Part II

I made wheat bread for the first time ever, thanks to the new wheat grinders from Mom and Dad!

And of course we celebrated New Years in style, playing Ticket to Ride and Five Crowns until 1:30 in the morning

And if it's possible, had a bit of a hangover from the Martinelli's...

And last but certainly not least, watched (and explained) The Office to Mom and Dad so they would start watching it. Thanks to Andy and his nipple chaffing...I think they are sold. :)

"I'm petrified of nipple chaffing. Once it starts, it is a vicious circle."-Andy Bernard
or maybe it was Michael's statement... "I'm not superstitious... I'm a little stitious."
Ahhh....good fun!!
