Alright...sorry to have left my blog in such a "Debbie Downer" mood. Wow. SO much has been happening in our lives for the last week and a half. By the picture at the top...I guess that sums up what we are doing. We are moving.
Today we got the phone call. The one that we have been waiting for all week. We knew that whatever the decision was, it would change our lives. Josh's job down here has been getting more and more unstable as the months have gone on. We put his resume out and last weekend made an unexpected quick trip up to Salt Lake for interviews. We spent this week in limbo. Will we land a job? Will we have to get creative with jobs until we find one? Will we have a job here long enough to find another one? The questions went on and on.
I look at the timing of all of this and know we have been blessed. School is out next week. There is no need to put Maddie and Hayden into a new school mid year. They will start school in a new class with new kids but will have a summer to make friends and get comfortable before that starts. We also have been able to keep a job while looking for another one. In this economy, this in and of itself is a luxury. So many lose a job and have to scramble to find another one.
The jobs that Josh interviewed for were both extremely competitive. Both employers said they were shocked at the number of applicants, extremely qualified applicants, they had to choose from.
We are so sad to be leaving "home". We absolutely LOVE living down here. We have met incredible people and so many have become close friends. Friends we want to have for a lifetime. I remember bawling my eyes out as we moved from our first home and I know I will do it again this time. I wish we could just leave things the way they are but at the same time we are so lucky and blessed to have a new job opportunity and a new adventure for our family.
Thank you so much to all of you for your comments and phone calls. I know I had left it pretty open but with a public blog and the fact that we hadn't said anything to Josh's current employer I thought it was best to be careful.
Now I have to go scouring the city for boxes. Ahh the joys of moving....YUCK!

I know exactly how you feel. If you're interested in moving back into the ol' neighborhood our house is up for grabs. Pretty crazy what life throws at you, but it all happens for a reason. I'm excited to look back one day and know why, but for now I just have to go with the flow. Good luck with everything.
All of your SLC friends are saying Congrats and yay...while i want to cry and say boo-hoo!:( Not to be a downer on you!
Yes, things have worked out like they were supposed to. It is just sad! I will miss our trips to the "wall"! Our dinners, our scrap nights, our IM conversations that had us both rolling...etc.etc.etc. You have been such a good friend. We have had so many fun times together...ARGH! ;) We miss you already! We will be there to help you with anything you need help with!
How soon is this happening? Like, a few years down the road ,right!?!
(tear, sniff, sniff, tears, more tears...)
Sorry, I guess i am not the best cheer-er upper!
A loss for St. George...a win for us. WE ARE THRILLED!!!!
Rachel Rachel Rachel...so he did get the job! Congrats on that one! That's a great accomplishment these days! Stability says it all! I hate the thought of you moving...ahhhh! What about scrapbook group?!?!? I will be lost without you! However, sometimes it's fun to branch out again, just think of how many friends you made here in such a short amount of time...I am sure you will do the same up there! You have such a fun personality and I wish you the absolute best! The Lord knows us and knows what is best...for different reasons at certain times in our lives...sometimes it's just not easy and we tend to have a hard time understanding that! Remember the Lord wants the best for you! Your family is awesome - good thing for IM and email! I'm sure we'll all keep in good touch! Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help!!! I will miss you TONS!
I'm with the Salt Lake crowd = excited!! Good luck with your move! If you want to be able to buy something under $200,000 I can tell you about some great options really close to downtown (I don't know where Josh's job is). Wish you the best!
I'm glad that things worked out without having to go through the unemployed route like so many people are experiencing right now. And of course I'm thrilled that you will be in Salt Lake. I'm excited to know where in Salt Lake. We live on South Temple. I'm hoping for close enough for an occassional playdate. Good luck with everything.
wow, crazy! So like I said on my blog everything happens for a reason. Sometimes it doesnt seem great at all at first, but later we can look at it and say "Oh that had to happen, so that could happen, and that had to happen so this could happen. If that makes any sense... I am still in that process. You have a great attitude! Are you moving back here by chance?!
HEY IT'S ME THIS TIME: NOT WEIGHTNOMORE!!!-- haha :) I was setting up a blog for Amy's business when I commented, & then realized it- but then it froze on me- BIG SURPRISE huh? So, it's just Jodi leaving crazy identity comments...
Again, I am going to misssss you soooo much- we will be travelling a lot between SLC & TX :)
LOVE YA TONS
