Back to school!

School started a couple (or maybe a few) weeks ago. And yes, I am just now getting it blogged!

Maddie started third grade. THIRD?!!? Where has the time gone?

The highlight for her...learning to write cursive. She loves to put curly swirls on all of her letters and so cursive is right up her alley. (the nut didn't fall too far from the tree on that one!)

She came home a few days later and said that the teacher told everyone they couldn't write their name in cursive on their papers quite yet. I asked Maddie if she knew why and she said "Teacher said that she couldn't read the names!" HAHA!

Hayden started Kindergarten a week later. He was so excited to go to the big kid school and be like Maddie.

His backpack was a bit big for him but it is the one he wanted. He will grow into it before I know it.

As they headed into school his teacher told them to wave goodbye and tell their parents "see you soon" and Hayden just kept walking. He was not one bit sad. He was so ready. Yes, I cried.

The next day I told Hayden he could ride the bus to school with Maddie. I have never seen him so excited. You would have thought I told him he was going to Disneyland. That morning he got dressed as fast as he could and ate his breakfast without me having to beg him to hurry. We headed out for the bus and waited and waited and waited. No bus. There was a bus change and the driver got mixed up. So we RAN back to the house and drove to school. Hayden was bummed. BIG TIME.

The next day though....the bus was there!

So cute! Maddie is adorable. I can't believe how fast our kids are growing. I know it's such a cliche thing to say, but it's true! Blake started kindergarten today. He was so excited and didn't give me a second look. So sad and so exciting at the same time!

Can't believe Hayden is in kindergarten! It seems like just yesterday I was visiting you in the hospital right after you had him! Life really is moving too fast!
