Amish Friendship Cinnamon Bread

While I was up in Salt Lake-my Mom had a bag of what I call "goop" sitting in a bag on her counter. My Mom said it was Amish Friendship Cinnamon Bread. It has been going around her ward. Basically, it is a starter to make bread the way the Amish do. It takes 10 days but at the end you get 2 loaves of bread. Every day she mushed the bag and let out the air (which by the way was a little stinky!) Saturday was her 10th day and she started by adding some ingredients and then taking out 3 cups (separated) into 3 ziplock bags and gave me one. She then baked the bread and when it was done asked me to try some. I was a little hesitant since it had been sitting on my Mom's counter for 10 days but I must say it was AMAZING! I couldn't believe how yummy it was. We sat talking and eating bread that afternoon. She gave me the recipe with my bag of goop to take home and make some more. So next Monday I will have more delicious homemade bread to eat! Here is the starter recipe if you want to start it in your neighborhood. When the recipe asks you to separate the starter- you give it to 3 friends with the recipe and let them have some fun! (You can also keep a batch if you want to have the bread again in 10 days!)

So here it is....ENJOY!
