Mother's Day weekend...

Wow, what a weekend! We had a good time and it was busy! Saturday afternoon we headed up to Pine Valley with Justin and Shana and the kids. We had a barbeque and then fishing at the lake. It was a perfect day up there. We escaped a sweaty 99 degrees and headed up to a nice comfortable 79 degrees. Maddie hasn't quite decided if she likes fishing. This was her first real attempt at fishing and I think her little 5 year old mind envisioned throwing in the line and fish would fight over who would be caught first. She sat along the beach for a few minutes and her attention was gone. She wanted the fish...but she didn't want to actually have to wait for them. Uncle Justin was so nice to let Maddie reel in one of the fish on his line and let her claim it. It made the whole trip worth it for her. We went back to the picnic site after fishing and roasted marshmallows. Sunday morning, Josh was cleaning up after the Mother's Day breakfast when the phone rang. The new Elder's quorum president in our ward asked if he could come by a few minutes later...so I grabbed the kids and ran into the bedroom and shut the door. No one needs to see what I look like first thing in the morning!! Really. It is pretty scary! Josh came into the bedroom after the president left and I said "You got a calling didn't you?" He was called to be the new Elder's quorum secretary. The replacements for the couple we serve with in nursery were called so between that and Josh's new calling...our days in nursery are numbered. I am crossing my fingers for something nice like Visiting Teaching supervisor, Relief Society door greeter...anything like that! There were also only 6 kids in Nursery yesterday so that was a nice little present too! Easy day in nursery! Josh made dinner and we played. He had a presidency meeting so I got to watch the Survivor finale in peace! It was a fun weekend! I am so lucky to have the life that I have. I am so lucky to be a mom to two great kids...and to one great husband! Thank you Josh, Maddie, and Hayden for everything! I love you!
