Our first snow storm of the winter!

For months now Maddie has been asking when it will snow here. Whenever the news is on and they talk about the "next big snowstorm" coming she gets so excited until we tell here that it doesn't usually get cold enough for snow here. But on Monday she got her wish. We were having terrible wind all morning (75 mph!) and about 3:00 we looked outside and it had begun to hail. Next came the snow. Hayden looked outside and I asked him what was going on outside and he said "It's dirty Mom!" He doesn't remember snow since we moved when he was too little. So we dug out our winter coats and hats and headed out for some fun. They had a blast trying to catch snowflakes on their tongues and even had a mini snowball fight. Actually it was a one sided fight...Maddie threw snowballs at Hayden who was too busy trying to eat snow. When we were good and frozen we came back inside and as we were drinking hot chocolate the snow stopped and a couple of hours later it was gone. Now that is the kind of snow storm I love!
