Another week, another list of things to be thankful for!
I found a quote that I loved...it summed it all up perfectly for me:
"We only live once. During the down days, if you choose to keep in mind that you probably have more chances than others, more things to be thankful for than others, and more time to live on this Earth than others, you'd be reminded that your life is indeed very precious."
1. Saying I am grateful to be a Mom would be an understatement. I am guilty of having days where I am just going through the motions. Knowing I have errands to run, things to do, I just figure a way to juggle the kids into life. And then there are times where I realize I am missing out on a lot and stop. Stop everything just to spend one on one time with my kids. To be with them and not be busy with the other things that seem to grab my attention way too often. I am grateful for little kids who love me and understand that despite my faults, I love them more than anything. They are growing up so fast and I wouldn't want to be doing anything else in the world than be here right now.
2. Madelyn's last day of Kindergarten is today. This year has flown by so fast and I can't believe that she is going into 1st grade. I can't say I will miss begging her to hurry and finish her breakfast every morning!
3. 8 years (tomorrow...more to come!) of marriage to my best friend. This too has also flown by. I can't believe I have been married this long! I also can't believe that I am 28. I was at a friend's house last week and as we were talking, it finally hit me that I am 28 and that I am going to be 29 soon. Holy crap! I didn't think I was this old!
4. That the weather has cooled off...at least for a couple of days. It went to 105 way too quickly this year and it made me realize that I should enjoy every day that isn't blasted hot for as long as possible! Sure we don't get snow here, but we make up for it with heat!
5. That we ended up buying our house here. When we were looking to move here, we found several houses that we loved. This is the first house that we looked at on our trip and there were several problems on offers made on other houses and this one worked out without a hitch. I am so glad we moved here and we have met wonderful people that we consider friends. We probably never would have met them had we not bought this house!
