Be prepared...I should learn that lesson

Sunday night a lady from the PTA called and said that Maddie had won an honorable mention for her 3D art project she entered for the Reflections program. There was going to be an assembly the next morning and we were invited to go. It was at 9:15 and I was running around like a crazy lady trying to get everyone put together so that we would make it on time. We found seats and no sooner than we sat down, Hayden was going through the bag looking for toys to play with. I had cleaned out the bag the day before after church and was now realizing that I had NOTHING for him to play with. Not good. There was only my wallet, a few diapers and some wipes. Not a car, not a treat, not a thing to entertain a 3 year old for more than 3 milliseconds. I was suddenly crossing my fingers that this would be a quick presentation and we could get out of there.

I should have known we would be in troule right off the bat because they were running late getting started! Another Mom and her 3 year old came and sat by us and a few minutes later I heard her say "Oh no!" She realized that she had brought little candies for her little boy to keep him quiet but had forgotten the wipes and he was a sticky mess. I pulled out my wipes for her and she kindly gave Hayden some treats that kept him quiet for a good 20 minutes. We both laughed because we had both thought this would be a quick thing and we would be done. Almost 2 hours later and we were free!

(Hayden was crying on the floor but the second the camera came out he was all smiles...little stinker!)

We are so proud of Maddie. She worked so hard on her project and did it all by herself. She was so excited for her medal. It made the assembly worth it to see the beaming smile on her face!
