Happy 4th Birthday Haydo-Tato!

So this picture is one of my favorites, and I will tell you why. When Kel and I took Hayden out to this field, Kel brought along a few props...a drill, a sword, and a gun. Does she know this boy or what?! We spent quite a bit of time trying to distract him from the drill. So when he put the gun onto the sword what were we to do? Let him go and roll with it. It is complete Hayden.

Only my little buddy would come up with some funky contraption like this. But that is how he works. He loves to take things apart. He puts things together in different ways. This can get a bit annoying during everyday occurances such as my batteries missing from the remote, knobs from my kitchen cabinets on the floor (or in his pocket and his nursery teachers handing them to me saying they saw them and thought they might be ours...LOVELY!), toys dismantled and laying in pieces on the floor...the list could go on and on. As much as it can annoy me and drive me up in the wall (and sometimes back down and back up again) I love his curiosity.

So Happy Birthday sweetie! Life hasn't been the same since you came into our lives and I am glad! So here are 4 reasons why we love you to pieces...

1. Hayden doesn't just take things for what they are because they are there. He wants to find out WHY something works and HOW it works...one day he might do something really great with that and can send me on cruises as a thank you for all the stuff we have had to replace or toss! :) hehehe!

2. He shares (for the most part ;)...there are days!) his things with his sisters. Last night when we went out to dinner, he got cheesecake for his birthday and shared with Maddie. He will bring toys to Grace when she needs something to play with even if he is busy doing something...and this is without me even having to say a word. So nice!

3. He loves one on one time. Being the middle child isn't always easy (Hey! I was the oldest and I didn't think that was easy one bit! I don't think any position is easy come to think of it...anyway!) but when it is just one of us and Hayden he eats it up. He loves to talk and to do things with us. He doesn't talk a ton when the girls are around, probably because he can't get a word in edge wise, but he loves to tell you what he is thinking.

4. He always wants to give "loves" and kisses. He will see me working and come up and say "I think you need kisses and loves Mommy". He also uses this as a stall technique at bed time by saying, "I think you need more kisses and loves" because he knows we couldn't turn that down!

Happy Birthday!!!

xoxo
