Catching up and unpacking

So if you are reading this you might be thinking "She must be all unpacked!" No way. I wish. I am sitting here waiting for the cleaning bug to bite or for a magic fairy to come and finish up the job. After 3 weeks of packing, moving, and unpacking, I am finding myself completely uninterested in all of it. So I figured if I was going to be lazy and sit here for a minute, I might as well get some blog catching up done. And yes, that sounds like fun!!

When we came up over Mother's Day weekend, we decided that in between interviews and some house hunting to take the kids to the zoo. We haven't been there in YEARS! The kids had so much fun and of course they were calling the animals by their "Madagascar" names. Please say my kids aren't the only ones who don't see the zebras and say "Look! There's Marty! Hi Marty!!" Oh, they are?! Sweeet!

The obligatory Gorilla pictures. Maddie looks more like she is ready to fly away!

Hayden wasn't so sure about it, but did much better when Dad was with him. Mini Josh. That is all I have to say.

Here is the said 'Hey Marty' incident.

But since I am just so awesome and didn't move, instead of seeing Marty, all you see is some chick's enormous backpack. Great shot Rach! So just in case you are just dying to see...here he is...
My favorite happened to be the penguins. Their little waddle gets me every time. And one must have been the leader because wherever he went, eventually all the others would follow. I wanted to sneak one in the diaper bag and take it home with me. Although, I have heard they stink. Nevermind. I already have plenty of that! :)

The kids went and played in the park and they couldn't get enough. Maddie had to show off her mad monkey bar skills

Hayden couldn't get enough of the slides and the spider web.

Grace went down the slide once, decided she wasn't the biggest fan, and then spent the rest of the time going up and down the step that divided the bark in the playground and the sidewalk. In fact, in the picture with Grace and my parents, she wasn't happy because she was being held and was losing precious time with that step!

Maddie and Pop Pop had a blast playing with the drums while I went to get those cool swirly ice cream cones. If you have been to the zoo, you know what I am talking about. They were so good, I didn't even stop to take a picture of it before inhaling it! Mmmmm....

It was Mommy and Me day at the zoo for Mother's day and everyone was walking around the park in the same t-shirt. Come to find out, you buy the shirt for 7 bucks, that is cheaper than admission and then you got all sorts of free stuff throughout the park. We found this out AFTER we bought our tickets. Yep, that is what we do! Well they were giving free massages for moms with the shirt and Pop Pop gave me his and I got my first EVER massage. And yes, the guy who gave it to me could tell. It was the best 10 minutes of the entire day. WOW. I see why people love them!

I love this girl. Snaggletooth (at the time) and all. I had just called her "Snaggle" so she wouldn't give me a toothy smile anymore.

And this little boy runs me ragged. I have never met a more curious little boy in my life. But that little smile of his melts me.

Little Lou Lou still keeps those pinch-able cheeks. I love her to pieces even if she has hit the stage where it isn't cool to look at Mommy and the camera anymore. She finds it incredibly funny.

On the way out we had to get a picture on the big elephant. Not successful. They were done. This was as good as it was gonna get.

Good enough. :)
