Road Trip!

I think this is the longest blogging break I have ever taken. I have great excuses though, I really do. First off my Mom and I and the kids all loaded up in the family van and headed down to Vegas to pick up my sister's kids. Ash had a bit of a pregnancy scare (the baby was measuring too small and the doctors were very concerned) and on top of that she is the YW president and it was girls camp that week. We had already told her we were going to take the girls for camp and now that these doctor appointments came up, it made even more sense to have the girls so Ash and Jake could deal with all the fun without two little girls in the mix. Good news on Monday...everything was good with the baby so Ash headed on up to Girls camp! YAY!!

These kiddos all get along. Seriously. There isn't any fighting or "you can't play with us" or any of the other fun stuff kids like to torment each other with. We spent a few days down in HOT HOT HOT St. George (or St. Jeezy if you'd like) playing with play dough

(Smiley face to protect the cute little Sydney who wanted to play with the play dough in her unders. I would have died if my aunt put a picture like that of me on her blog and since I am Sydney's favorite, I have her back ;)!

dancing to Gwen Stefani's "Sweet Escape"

(yep, you guessed it...dancing in her unders too. I love that girl!)

going to the splash pad (early so we didn't roast in the sun!)

checking on the house (sniff sniff)

and decorating cookies.

I even got my hair done after a much too long break (THANK YOU MEL!!! You are the best!)

Josh had called me Tuesday or was it Wednesday?...I can't remember, things all started blurring together... and told me that the guy that we were leasing from until we could buy when our house sold had just emailed him and said that the house was going into forclosure and they were meeting with the president of the bank to see if there was anything they could work out. I felt so sick to my stomach. We had talked and emailed several times before this deal was done and every time he reassured us that everything was fine and current. Obviously not. We packed up all the kids and headed back home so that we could figure out what the blast we were gonna do. Seriously?! We just moved in 3 weeks ago. I DID NOT want to pack up and move AGAIN.

We talked about our options, about just putting in the bid on the house and seeing what would come of it. I had never felt like I was "home" if that makes sense. Josh didn't either. I felt bad because Maddie and Hayden were both already enrolled in school. Maddie had made a bunch of friends...yadda yadda yadda. We decided that we didn't want to stay and see. That night we went and looked at a house that is 2 blocks away from the home we were in. It was crazy. The second we walked in, I felt "home".

I came home that night and started grabbing boxes from the garage (Thank goodness we had left them all in a big pile and that Josh had ignored that "honey do" list while I was gone!) and put things in as fast as I could. We had to move over the 4th of July weekend...BOOO!!!! but at the same time we are now pretty much settled and happy with where we are now.

We learned so much in the last week or so...

1. Everything works out.
2. Go ahead...have a good cry cause it stinks and it isn't what you had planned but then slap that happy face on and get movin'
3. Despite the fact that I reduced all my Christmas boxes down into 2 big bins and a tree box, it is still more than I wanted to move.
4. We have entirely way too much junk.
5. Moving crap 2 blocks away is WAY better than moving it 4 hours away.
6. Kids don't need toys, just a few good boxes and a bag of fruit snacks and be completely happy.

If I have to move again any time soon I swear the mental ward will be coming to do a pick up instead!

Ok, so I thought, self, you should check out Rach's blog-- so I did and am I laughing so hard about the smiley faces. You are too good to her. Oh how she loves to play in the nude!

Thanks a million for taking them for me. I REALLY appreciate it. They had a great time. They ask all the time about their cousins. Looks like it is your turn to let them come here! Miss you! Love you!
