We live a few minutes away from the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple and thought it would be a great idea to take the kids because this doesn't happen very often. We had talks about the temple before and they had seen pictures of rooms in the temple in some of the books we have but it is another thing to actually get to see the temple, to be inside the temple.
It was beautiful. It was awesome to be in the celestial room as a family (even if it was for just a moment...gotta keep the lines goin'!) and to let the kids see the temple for themselves.
Nothing excited them more than the cookies and bottled water at the end of the tour. When we came out of the temple we said that we would go over and get cookies and Maddie turned to me and said "You mean you always get cookies at the temple?!" I wish! :) hehehe!
After cookies we went to go and get some pictures in front of the temple. They have volunteers there who are there soley to take the family picture. They thought of everything didn't they?!
Our volunteer was even willing to get down on the ground, laying on his side to get us and the whole temple in the picture. I wish I could show it to you, I really do, but I still have not come to terms with the double chin I appear to be sporting in it. I debated putting another smiley face sticker on me but nope.

You can see this one though...the volunteer asked if we wanted to wait for Grace to stop crying before snapping away. I said no. We might be waiting a very long time. Besides, it will be great to show her one day. When she tries to tell her kids that she never pitched a fit, was always happy, and never caused a scene I will get to pull out this picture as just one of many examples!

We are a happy family... (even if we are shoeless and holding a handful of bark!)

I kinda like this guy ;)

The happy parents

And the last sibling still at home. 16 and lookin for fun...and he chose to spend his Friday night hanging out with us! Yes, that is F.U.N! :)

I think you look great. I don't think you have enough fat on your body for double anything:) Where is that picture of you wearing the kid beanie up in Salt Lake. I am still waiting!
Uh, yeah, I agree with Shannon...you DONT have any fat on you, you silly goose! Lets see that family pic!:)
Looks like fun...I wish we had a chance to break a way for a weekend and go.
Life. Crazy.
I want to see the double chin pic. I don't believe it. Post it-- I dare you!
Hey - no one can see a double chin on you because my bobble-head hair is in the way! Why didn't I get my "Halle Barry" haircut before this picture???
