It would figure!

You know, there are days when you get up and feel like cleaning. You start the moment your feet hit the floor. It is a great feeling to sit down on the couch after picking up, sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, telling kids to put their toys in the baskets, doing the dishes, getting laundry folded and put away, telling kids to put their toys away again, and shiny clean bathrooms. You look around and think "TA DAH!" There is a sense of pride at seeing what your house can look like when it is so clean you could "eat off the floor" You want to run out to the street and scream at the top of your lungs "COME AND SEE! MY HOUSE IS CLEAN!!" Someone should see your accomplishment right?! And then when Josh comes home I proclaim "See how clean!?!" And you feel you have earned your gold star right smack dab in the middle of your forehead!

And then there are other days. Days like today. It is laundry day. It is also Monday-meaning a weekend of mess to clean up. And for some reason, that cleaning bug didn't bite this morning. But you know what did? Yep, that would be the day that people stop by. You want to crawl under a rock and hide. You can't think of anything else to say but 'sorry about the mess' and 'it doesn't really always look like this!' I have come to understand the saying "Cleaning your house while your kids are little is like shoveling your driveway while it is still snowing." I just might have to invest on getting this cute little sign to put in the family room for when days like this happen.

But of course, once your guests leave, that bug sure bites, and hard! But it is too late. Once it is clean, I will be back to yelling in the streets that it is clean. Or maybe I should have everyone who stopped by earlier come back---NAH!
