Goals are good...right?!

On Wednesday night I went to our ward's Relief Society Birthday dinner. As we were eating a few of the girls were talking about the spinning class that they go to early in the morning and an aerobics class they go to once or twice a week. They asked me to go with them the next time they go...so I made a very much needed personal goal that I am going to get into good shape. I have had a membership to Gold's Gym for the last year and a half and have only been once. (I am embarassed to even be writing that!) I have always found myself a great excuse. First I had just had Hayden, and then I didn't want the kids getting the nasty germs that winter, then I was just so busy with primary, and then it was just "too far" and then it was we are moving and my worst one...we just moved into our house. What does that have to do with working out? Nothing....that's what! So now that I am going to be going with people I don't want to wimp out early and look like an idiot. So this morning I thought..."Wouldn't it be great to go walking?" So I loaded up the kids in the double stroller-snacks in tow-and put Buddy on the leash and we were off. I was so proud of myself for actually GOING! We were off. 2 houses up from ours, Buddy saw a man working and started to bark. I yanked on his leash to get him to stop and kept walking. Another house up- Buddy decided he didn't feel like walking anymore. (Lazy dog...really really sad!) So I had to load him up in the stroller too so that I could finish our walk. I didn't realize how many roads went uphill around us until I started walking. When I lived in Eagle Mountain- I used to go walking with Amanda and Melissa. Melissa was a super walker. She zipped up giant hills like they were nothing. Amanda and I liked to talk while we walked so we were perfect walking buddies. But one day-Amanda couldn't make it and it was just me and Melissa. I got my butt kicked that day. I walked home so exhausted. Today I remembered how I felt that day with Melissa. And I must say- there is nothing like a shower after working out! But the test will be if I do it again! Maybe I will just go to the gym!

Thanks for the congratulatory comment! Make sure you make it known when you will be here next... You could come to Girls' Night on Wednesday, or we could have a second Girls' Night or Girl's Lunch, or Girl's Brunch, or all of the above!

I totally remember getting my butt whooped on the Cedar Pass Ranch Hills. I remember freaking out if I didn't see you rounding the corner, thinking maybe you weren't coming that day and I would have to walk alone with Melissa! Oh, the horror! I need to do some walking... BAD! I probably won't. I'll probably just sit around and watch my body get bigger and bigger then regret it later!
