Mothers of little boys...

When we found out we were having a boy, everyone told me "Boys are different!" Well I thought that was obvious. But I am still amazed at how different they really are! And I can't say I wasn't warned. Plenty of my friends have little boys and they told me some great stories. But it didn't sink in until I had one of my own. When I was 13 my parents had my little brother Austin. He is the only boy in the family. Poor thing! But I have always remembered my mom saying "I should have had the boy when I was younger!" I was talking to her when they were down this past weekend and we got on the subject of boys. Hayden is something else. If there is anything to take apart, destroy, or hurt himself on he is all for it. I spend his waking moments chasing after him and making sure he lives to see another day. I had been telling my mom some of the things that he had been up to and she just sat there and laughed. Honestly, he has put 10 years on my life! I have gone through 2 spray water bottles in one week. He loves to take the nozzle off and I have learned that there is a little clear plastic part that goes inside the nozzle that has to be there in order for it to work...but his favorite thing to do is take that out and hide it somewhere in the house never to be seen again. He loves to climb up on top of the table, jump off the couch, and turn the t.v. on and off (as talked about in his birthday post!) My sister has two little girls and when I said he kept getting into no-no's she said "Just move them so he can't get into them". See, I have had a little 2 year old girl and for her that worked. But for a boy...all of his no-no's can't really be moved. I just have to watch him like a hawk! My mom said that boys are harder when they are younger....girls are harder when they get older. So I am praying I make it through Hayden's tough years and just when those are over...Maddie will get her turn!
