My family all got together this weekend (they should all move here-really!) because Michelle is up for an Ambassador Scholarship and they had an overnighter up in Pine Valley. This was also Prom weekend and Michelle was a little bummed...it is her senior year and a guy was going to ask her but he heard that she was going to be gone so didn't ask. She wanted to go but she wants that scholarship money more! Smart girl!! But up at the cabin in Pine Valley the Ambassadors this year heard that she and her best friend Megan didn't go to their prom to be there and so they had a "mini prom" and had a couple of the ambassadors as dates and had a blast. But this weekend was also the weekend of Pineapples. Jake and Ash had sent us a forward that had a clip from YouTube that had us peeing our pants. Suddenly all we could do was say "PINEAPPLE PINEAPPLE PINEAPPLE!" I have put the link here so that you can enjoy too!
And to top it all off...my Mom got so excited any time she heard "The Sweet Escape" from Gwen Stefani. My mom is a "KOSY" kind of girl. Back in the day it was a "Light FM 100" girl. The kind of girl stuck in the late 60's-70's kind of girl. Growing up Ashley and I would roll our eyes when any song by Cat Stevens or Dan Fogelberg would come on. My mom would turn the music up and sing. And the radio never left that station-even when we had friends in the car. We would shrink down in the front seat and pray that a "cool song" would come on. It never did. But now my mom at the age of 50 has decided not ALL of our music is crap! In fact we were playing games and Austin was in watching the Kids Choice Awards on Nickelodeon and Gwen Stefani came on singing "The Sweet Escape" and my mom threw her cards down and said "I have to see what cute outfit she is wearing!!" and ran into the family room and didn't leave until the song was over. (this is not like my Mom at all to leave a game to watch TV!) My cheeks and stomach are still hurting today from all of the laughing.
