Our Trip...Day 2

This was our first day at Disneyland. The Bogess family hadn't been to Disneyland before (Dirk said he had gone when he was younger) and it was fun to see their kids faces when we walked in. We planned to go the same week we had gone two years before because it wasn't crowded and the weather was starting to get nice. This year was NOT like that AT ALL.

I debated making my title: "Recession?! What recession?!"

There were TONS of people there. TONS. Disney, in order to keep sales up, now offers local residents the option of monthly payments for an annual pass, and of course, the deal that you get in free on your b-day. You could swing a stick and hit a birthday boy/girl/chick/guy no matter where you went. We were probably only a handful of people from "out of town".

But we didn't let that spoil our fun. NO WAY!!!! We just got creative. We booked it over to Indiana Jones first since that ride is among the most crowded no matter when you go.

This picture of course does not do justice to explain what I mean for "booking it". It wasn't a run, because that of course would make us look like crazy tourists...of which we certainly are not :) but it was a classic looking speed walk. Niiice.

We jumped around from Adventureland to Fantasyland to Tomorrowland....you get the idea...riding rides. Some were short and we didn't have to wait long to get on.

Some were almost painful to wait for, such as the Nemo Submarine ride. We all jumped into line and about 20-25 minutes in I heard someone say that the wait from the beginning to the end was 60 minutes. WHAT THE?! It was too late to turn back but that might have been one to save for our early day. Good to know for next time.

All I have to say is "Holy stinkin' line Batman"! This was about 1/2 way through...

Thank goodness for Coleson who Hayden absolutely loved. Maddie had her best friend Capri and Hayley loved playing with Gracie. (I'll have to get those pictures up too!)

And to top off the day we got to meet Mickey and Minnie.

All in all...a very successful first day! And we are only 1/3 of the way through all the walking...and walking....and walking...thank goodness for comfy shoes!
