Punkin' Pickin'

We took the kids to the local pumpkin patch so they could pick out their pumpkin to carve for Halloween.

We picked the middle of the day for one reason. Warmer. At least we thought it would be.

Our thin St. Georgian blood is slowly adjusting to the cold here.
S-L-O-W-L-Y....

We picked a day that ended up being colder than usual so we walked the aisles of pumpkins with the wind making our cheeks red and our teeth were chattering but we had fun!

The kids missed the tractor ride that we usually went on but were happy to see there was a wheelbarrow to use.

Grace thought it was her highnesses mode of transportation...

I love that I got this picture with Maddie in the middle of telling Hayden that "that isn't the perfect pumpkin...leave it there. HEY...don't take that..." Ahh, one day when she says she never bossed her brother and sister around, I have proof. :)

Maddie could have spent all day in that patch. She wanted to see each and every single one. She would grab one and say it was the one, only to put it down a minute later because she found another one she liked more.

Hayden just wanted his picture taken with all of them. He was stopping and smiling every couple of steps. Of course, in between pushing the wheelbarrow of course! ;)

Grace didn't have a clue as to what we were doing there. She just knew there were mud puddles and things to step on so she was in heaven. And to make me happy she made a pact with herself not to EVER look up at me when I had the camera. Not once.

This was as good as it was going to get with her.
And the crazy hair makes it even better. She HATES having anything in her hair. Poor thing doesn't have much of it and she is almost 2. Good grief!

Once Josh found the last pumpkin we told the kids that their pumpkin choices were final and hurried to the exit before they could even think about trading it for another one.

We loaded up and I turned the heater on in the car. On full blast... and missed this time of year in St. George. Pumpkin picking without freezing your bum off!!

St. George will be in the 70s & 80s for the next 7 days. Sooooooooooooooo not fair! This is the time of year when I begin to question why I live in N. Utah. Phoenix is looking better all the time! Looks like you guys had fun!

It is so hard to get used to the cold again. When I have to travel to Idaho to visit family I am freezing the entire time! I love going to the Pumpkin Patch, it's always a fun tradition. So did you decide if you were coming to that thing Alisha puts on? It sounds fun, I want to do it too :)
